Prior to your visit a Client Consultation Form is emailed to you for completion prior to your appointment, this must be returned at least 24 hour prior to you visiting, for us to check that Reflexology is suitable for you and your treatment aims, why are you visiting us (i.e relaxation, sleep disturbances, health issues, energy boost, overall wellbeing etc)

If you develop a cold, covid, infections on skin problems on your feet, please ensure to let me know in advance as much as possible as we may need to reschedule your treatment.

Make sure you have enough time for the session, no rushing and please wear loose, comfortable clothing and make sure your feet are clean and in good condition.

What happens during my treatment?

This one hour calming treatment, You will recline on your back on our body contoured couch and remove footwear and socks for the duration of your treatment.  Your feet are warmly cleansed, you are offered to be covered in a heated blanket and the option of heated eye mask if you'd like one enveloping, gentle warmth that enhances your resting, promoting tranquility and a calming ambiance. A natural vegan balm is then added to glide and use pressure during the treatment, It's your hour of relaxation so I will check the pressure is right for you, on occasions congested reflex areas of the foot may feel slight tender when pressure is applied but I will keep a check on your comfort level during the hour.   Experiences with reflexology sessions vary from a general feeling of relaxation, to a sense of "lightness" or tingling in the body, as well as feelings of warmth and a sense of energy movement within a specific body area.

How long is my treatment?

Reflexology last one hour, your first session please allow an extra 15 minutes to run through your forms and any concerns either of us may have.

What should I wear to my treatment?

Please wear loose, comfortable clothing so that you can gain maximum relaxation.

Access it needed to your lower legs and ankles so please keep this in mind and ensure tights or tight trousers that cannot be rolled up are not worn.

Can you diagnose my health problems?

Reflexology cannot diagnose or cure health conditions, but during a treatment I may identify particular areas of imbalance which may reflect an area of the body that is out of balance or working harder to maintain your wellbeing.

Reflexology is a deeply relaxing complementary therapy which helps to reduce stress and supports your body’s natural ability to heal itself. It does not replace conventional medicine. Please consult your GP if you are concerned about your health.

Are there any side effects to Reflexology?

Most people experience positive feelings during and after a reflexology treatment such as feeling relaxed and a sense of wellbeing.

As reflexology starts to rebalance and unblock energy pathways, the body’s own healing response kicks in. Some people but not may experience some mild, temporary symptoms. These may include light headedness, temp changes, fatigue, increased bowel movements and urination, heightened emotions, increased thirsty, etc.

These are all normal and nothing to be afarid of as this mean that your body has reacted to reflexology, and the body is elimination what no longer serve you. They should disappear 24-48 hours post treatment.

After any treatment you should always allow your body to rest. Remember to eat light and healthy, and drink lots of water.

Does Reflexology Hurt?

Reflexology is a gentle and non-invasive therapy, pressure is applied to the feet and ankles, pressure can be adjusted for the clients preference. On occasions a small, discomfort or tenderness may be felt on reflexes that are out of balance but this is a good sign as it helps us both aware of where you body needs more support.

Does Reflexology Tickle?

Reflexology is not, it involves a degree of pressure with intention and clients can guide the pressure to what suits them.

How many treatments will I need and how often?

This really depends on you as an individual and your own circumstances, we treat everyone as unique and we are not all the same. My recommendation to those suffering from an active illness, chronic stress or other symptoms that negatively impact their quality of life is to start off with weekly or fortnightly treatments for the first 4-6 sessions. For maintaining good health and wellbeing a treatment once a month is recommended.

Consistency is key because reflexology tunes in to your body’s natural cycle and rhythm, so having your treatments on the same day/time every week or month can be helpful too. Of course, reflexology may also be used as an occasional treat if you just want some 'time out' to de-stress and relax. Include it as part of your self-care plan or purchase a session as a gift for someone special
